MEETING MINUTES
 
SK CWHBA-Minutes October 27, 2002

Present: Pat Slimmon, Linda Donnelly, John Blacklock, Charmaine Bergman, Piera Calissa, Diane Million, Betty Bansch and Elaine Partington.

Meeting called to order and minutes of last meeting read and approved.

Stickers have been sent to National, Ontario, Alberta, etc. Val Sanford is following up on the payment for them.

Warmblood Showcase 2002. Piera has the show ribbons and inventory. Charmaine is to order more Mare Premium ribbons for 2003. Val submitted some suggestions. They were read and discussed.

Riding Horse Test…length of time Test Riders rode the horses was discussed. Elaine Partington motion: Revise prize list to be re-written to read " Short test ride to make a fair assessment of gaits and rideability. CARRIED

A Yearling Futurity for 2003 was suggested, and that each year the futurity be offered for the next age group, so that eventually there would be futurity classes for weanling, yearling, 2 year old, and 3 year olds.

Discussion on adding or opening the classes to other registered breeds. PAT Slimmon Moved that we have some open line classes for registered horses in the Warmblood Showcase 2003. CARRIED.

Discussion on volunteer needs for 2003 event, included Runners, Whipper-Ins and Announcer for mare inspection/line classes. Need more non-showing volunteers and their involvement on the committee. Need a Chair for the committee. Paperwork needs to be done prior to show, and need a meeting for volunteers and committee prior to show. Office hours. Need to be posted for Sunday. Friday orientation meeting for volunteers.

Fund Raising….discussion…grooming and foal feeding. Mare conditioning and presentation video and/or clinic.

Web-members would like to see a forum on the national website.

SK AGM set. December 7th, at PBR, Saskatoon. Meeting 4pm, Cocktails 6:30, Supper 7:00pm.

Diane Million moved that a small surcharge be added to the cost of the meal to raise funds. CARRIED.

Education Committee formed. Linda Donnelly and Diane Million to co-chair. Discussion on event ideas….Equine Dentist, Farrier, etc.
